Do you travel with your kids and want to share your top destinations? Then, pitch your ideas to us. We are always looking for a fresh perspective and new writers.
Carful of Kids is looking for Disney-loving families and cruisers. We love international best-of or city guides, especially those from Europe. We are especially interested in destinations in the Midwest, Southeast and Northeast U.S. Holiday and Seasonal travel is a good fit, too. Ideally, we are looking for writers who will contribute several times a year.
Carful of Kids isn’t looking for personal essays. We also have plenty of US National Park and Texas content.
Carful of Kids Family Travel started in 2012 and has expanded over the years. Now a syndication partner with MSN, Carful of Kids averages about 30,000 UVMs a month, and we accept stories from press trips.
The best way to reach out is at CarfulofKids@gmail.com.
Writers Guidelines:
Your Story: Carful of Kids uses a personable second-person voice. We want our readers to visualize themselves in the destination. Of course, your top tips and hints are important, so the first person is fine for that.
Story Length: Articles on CarfulofKids.com average about 1,500 words and up to 2,000 words.
Bio and Headshot: Contributors get a byline, so we require a short biography and headshot.
Photos: CarfulofKids requires original photos, with five to eight photos preferred. Most photos need to be horizontal and in JPEG format. They also need to be resized to 1200×900 or thereabouts.
Publication Rights: We publish first, worldwide, and digital rights. We also exercise the right to continue to use, share, and promote the article at any time in the future, which is an industry-standard for digital publications.
Links: Links help with SEO so if you also have a travel website, you can add one link to your site. Another link to the hosting destination is also a good idea. Affiliate links are not acceptable.
Social Media: Carful of Kids will share your work on its social channels, and you should, too. It will help more readers find your article.
How to Craft Your Pitch:
In the subject line of the email, give me a proposed title. Then, outline what you intend to write about. Let us know why you are the person to write about this location. Finally, share some of your work from your site or other publications.
